As many of you know, we are all experiencing the very real impacts of a dysfunctional and harmful medical industry and system in this country.

As a provider, I have had to take a step back and think about what is sustainable for me, my practice, and my well-being at this point in time.

Working with insurance companies has become too precarious to sustain. At least once a week, I receive notification from one or more insurance companies that they are changing, cutting back on, or no longer covering the services I provide. I am not being paid enough to sustain my practice—and sometimes I am not paid at all. Meanwhile, providers often see little to nothing of the exorbitant amounts patients pay into this system. These changes affect not only my livelihood and ability to continue offering care, but also your access to healthcare and well-being.

For that reason, as of January 1, 2027 my services will no longer be covered by insurance.

In order to make this work sustainable, I am hoping to transition to a cash-pay system. I am still working out the details of what this can look like so that my offerings are as accessible as possible.

I am trying to stay transparent through these big changes because I value you and understand that these shifts will inform how you receive/access care in the future. As I figure it out, I would like to keep you updated and informed about whatever changes are going to happen. If this means you will need to transfer care, I will provide reasonable continuity-of-care support for that process.

Please note that transfer-related paperwork, records coordination, and extended communication require unpaid administrative labor, and I may not be able to accommodate all requests or provide ongoing care coordination beyond what is reasonably necessary.

There will be follow up messages containing information/more details regarding cash payments/sliding scale services, as well as a separate message about transitioning care.

I value the care we have built together and appreciate your understanding as I navigate these changes and work to continue offering care in a sustainable way.
